my problems with the iPhone
I went to a talk about Web 2.0 at the Commonwealth Club this evening and, for some reason, it reminded me, perhaps due to their emphasis on the creation of tools that enable ever less computer literate people to implement their ideas on the web, that I have never seen any of the things that actually concern me about the iPhone on any of the lists I've looked at. Therefore and herewith, my list.
There're probably more but they escape me at the moment.
- I want to be able to customize the application icons that show up on the main screen.
- I think Apple should fix the bug whereby, in landscape mode, screen real estate is lost on the bottom of the screen when coming back from a lock episode.
- I'd really like to be able to eliminate the navigation bars in Safari, particularly on the bottom, in the same way I get to in iPod mode.
- and lastly, I'm none to fond of the way Safari loses styles after lock episodes.
There're probably more but they escape me at the moment.
