What the bleep do we know

My brother showed me "What the bleep do we know" last week and I finally got around to checking on the claim that 4000 transcendental meditators lowering the crime rate in Washington DC and found that, indeed, I had heard about it winning a 1994 Ignobel prize though I haven't actually found the corroborating research which apparently showed the violent crime rate to have risen. In general I found it unpersuasive because it kept making claims for things that I felt I had heard/read of as being debunked.

beginnings

This is a test, it is only a test because I'm not even sure I won't be returning the Mac I just bought and so might not feel like continueing. I have some hope, in the future, of keeping track of what I read with this thing(for instance I found some John Rackams(author circa late 60's early 70's) that I hadn't read(or don't remember reading) at a used book store and though still entertaining I find them distinctly dated. Mostly I read Sci-Fi and Sci-Fantasy but I've been reading rather more history/state of science and technology lately.
